Is Dave Portnoy Getting Hotter?

I am not ashamed to say it. Barstool Sports founder and social media personality Dave Portnoy has gotten hotter.

Portnoy has been in the public eye since starting Barstool Sports in 2003. A local Boston paper turned into a widely known sports blog that is now one of the top in the United States, and its founder has gained more popularity than ever after adopting “Miss Peaches,” a six-year-old American Pitbull.

In full transparency, I used to hate Dave Portnoy. The first time I recall hearing of Barstool Sports or Portnoy was sometime in high school, from the “SATURDAYS ARE FOR THE BOYS” trademarked slogan. The vibe he and his company gave me was the stereotypical gym bro, egocentric, toxic masculinity persona.

But, in the past few months, I have seen myself binge-watching TikToks of Portnoy more than once. Whether he is rating pizza from all over the country, talking on the BFFs podcast, or showcasing the newest addition to his family, the rescue dog Miss Peaches, I am trapped scrolling.

While I watch some content for entertainment, what has sold me on Portnoy is how he interacts with Miss Peaches.

Dogs have been called a man's best friend for over a century, and Portnoy’s relationship with his new BFF has confirmed that saying for us. In the short time he has spent with Miss Peaches, Portnoy has managed to create a new brand for her that not only has gained around 1.4 million followers on TikTok and Instagram combined but has revealed a soft side to this upper-class macho man.

Studies all over the internet prove that women are more attracted to men with dogs than men without. When a man has a dog, attractive characteristics like responsibility, empathy, and trustworthiness emerge. From showing love and affection to unconsciously revealing they can commit to something, women notice and take pleasure in it.

Miss Peaches brought these qualities out of Portnoy. It could be argued that hearing him baby-talk her is cringey, but I disagree. In my book, I see it as caring and cute rather than cringe. What I, and I am sure some of you, once thought about him was altered when we saw the content posted on his and “famousmisspeaches” social media accounts. The home he has provided for his pup and how he treats her can not be overlooked. And did I mention that it makes him look hotter?

After his public breakup with influencer Silvana Mojica, the man needed redemption. Ladies who followed the relationship online were upset with Portnoy and some would say villainized him for not being able to give Mojica what she wanted. However,  he found his redemption in Miss Peaches.

So, a tip for the men: a big truck won’t make you as hot as a cute pup. And ladies, are we in agreement that Portnoy has become a fox in his forties?
