medicine of my sorrows
lace-trimmed tune
silken and restless
nylon and nickle-plated
twine forces callus into
deft and slender fingers
we cry together
my six-string mistress
burnt sienna neck
in my clutches
don’t you fret
lover
you gently weep
your orphic strain
closely i embrace you
murmuring psalms and
agnozied invocations
breathed into a body
of rosewood and steel
sonic savior of mine
i find myself at last
your apostle and martyr
