Spring Silhouettes

The spring wind is no less fierce than in winter;

it pushes me forward, but never to my knees.

The spring sun tells me to raise my face

to the purple sky – to take in the vastness above.

Spring says to love, not to keep warm,

but to experience.

Spring says to dance, not to stay alive,

but to live.

Now I’m free to move my limbs;

I spin, and the flowers spin with me.

Now I’m free to sing;

I shout and scream, and the music is raw.

Now the stars hear my wishes,

the moon hears my pleas.

This spring is dappled light,

shadow as much as sun –

But I cherish the silhouettes of beautiful things

implanted against my bare skin.

I take in the world.

I take it all in, I take it all in.

The spring rain is no less fierce than in winter,

but it heals my skin in the end.

The spring trees tell me to breathe in deep;

feel all of nature – giving life to me again.

Strike Out,
