Kill the Kitten Heels

In the 1950s, kitten heels were used as a beginner heel for girls entering their teenage years in order to prepare them for the taller heels that would be worn come adulthood. , which inspired the name. As time went on platform heels and pumps became more popular but like most trends things come back and now the kitten has returned but they’ve come back even shorter.
Growing up in the 2010s, I remember vividly seeing kitten heels worn by elderly women. All the other girls and women wore high wedges and stiletto pumps. Including me. When my mother finally allowed me to start wearing heels in the 5th grade, I refused to get a kitten and got the highest wedges that I could find. That era was a time of the “six inch pumps”. The it girls like Arianna Grande, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, were constantly photographed at award shows, sitting courtside, or out and about with a nasty heel and millennials followed after that trend wearing high heels to the club.
Today, the kitten heel has made a comeback. Vintage kitten heels from Manolo Blahnik and Christian Dior are all over Pinterest and I can’t stop pinning them. . You can’t go wrong with it. They're cute for brunch, comfortable to walk in, and go with so many outfits. Recently, while shopping with a friend, I became very aware of the amount of kitten heels that were the size of ⅓ of our pinkie fingers.
We’re in a heel recession! Why would a heel be less than an inch, at that point just let it be a sandal.
It should be illegal for those heels to exist, tossed and burned into the trash. They make the feet look so long, they almost look like the shoes from the medieval ages but with an extra pinch at the bottom.
For those of you who rock a kitten heel, fashion has no limit or size. But personally, the bigger the better.
