Why Do I Rebrand at 3am?

After a few hours of sleep, my body suddenly wakes up around 3am routinely. During that window of time, I suddenly got the urge to rebrand my whole life on Pinterest. What about this uncanny calm that motivates the brain to begin working?

In folklore, 3am was known as ‘witching hour’. The time where witches and other figures like fairies, powers were the strongest. Also for evil or dark practices to be carried out.

Watch out for ghosts if you regularly wake up at this time they may come to haunt you with your most embarrassing memory if you aren’t careful.

Our sleep runs in stages and it's quite normal for after a few hours to wake up around 3am. It only becomes a problem when it's too frequent, experiencing panicking, or not getting enough sleep in general.

After the first stage of sleep, which is when you’re deep sleeping, the second stage is when your sleep is lighter and cortisol levels begin to rise making it easier to wake up. Cortisol are the stress hormones and function as your body’s alarm clock.

Because of the quietness of 3am and the cortisol levels increasing you may find yourself reflecting on life, decisions to make, maybe suddenly having the energy to clean your room.

When your mind begins to start racing, it's important to remind yourself to calm down. Don’t let the stresses and emotions take over  because they might not be the most rational. If you have the urge to rebrand your life, start off with a small goal that's more attainable rather than planning a whole 360 degree change.

By the time the day begins you’ll return right back to your regular routine because the photos of feeding an elephant in Thailand requires more planning than adding the picture to your board.
