Why Have One When You Could Have Five?

Incomes.
You can settle for one paycheck, but how could our creative minds stop at one idea? In this economy, it’s time to start getting money for all streams of talent, turning our creativity into opportunity, and using our minds as our most lucrative asset.
A lot of us are in our 20s, trying to figure out what we're good at and how we'll make money in the restaurant industry, retail, or other fields. It works, but it keeps you limited and far from the financial freedom you deserve.
It's important to realize that one income is comfortable, but maybe not even that. They tell you to get a job, stick it out, and be grateful to have one.
A job gets you by, but it doesn't get you to the next level.
We all have friends with niches: crocheting, thrifting, jewelry-making, crafts, baking, and content creation. It’s time to start getting paid for it. In this day and age, it’s almost expected to see everything with a price tag. You can't even go online without a paywall.
Remember when apps were free? What a time to be alive.
But nothing is ‘for free’, and you can go do all those things while making money from it. Somebody always wants it, wants to watch it, wear it, buy it.
Etsy is a great place, as is Facebook Marketplace, in-person markets, on your social media, or other selling sites, where you can put your own creative mind to work. People are selling anything these days, and it's time to be a part of it.
There are all kinds of people who love to bake; it gives them peace of mind, and they love to make banana bread for their friends and family. It's time to start getting paid. People are selling their own recipes, getting picked up from their house, and charging a bag for a plate of food.
You play instruments? You should teach lessons even just two times a week. Used to be a swimmer? So many families would pay for a swim teacher to come to their pool. Go clean some drivewaves, knock on doors, make some sales, hop on your computer, and get on Zoom.
I realized I have a shopping addiction, then I realized I am really good at it. So now I go shopping not only for my own retail therapy, but also for others. I find the logos, the well-known brands, or the funky clothes I know someone would pay a lot for. I know uploading those pictures to Depop can feel like a chore, but you bought that shirt for 5$ and someone is about to pay $50.
It sounds crazy at this age, but if I could start paying a mortgage instead of rent, I would be so much better off in the long run. Because I now have equity, I have a place I can live in or rent out, like an Airbnb or a rental property. You can get a house without even putting anything down, and replace the rent that does absolutely nothing for you besides get you through another month.
The side hustle market is booming, and not only am I lowballing on Facebook Marketplace, but I am reselling the same thing for a different price with different pictures. Sounds like this writer is a scammer, but at the end of the day, everyone is scamming everyone to feel a little more stable in this economy.
You can literally get paid to go on boats. If you know how to fish or drive a boat, some boat owners would love to do absolutely nothing and go on an adventure, while paying you. You like driving around? Uber, DoorDash, and grocery apps are well-known.
We've got to put down those phones. Watching all those travel videos when you should be posting your own content online and using it to save for that upcoming trip. I don't want to feel like I can't do things because of money, and I want to feel financial stability.
There are so many ways to get into a side hustle. It's easy to get burnt out and put in the effort, but it's all in your mindset and how you choose to manage your time. Once you are in a flow of income, you will feel more motivated to keep going.
Having more than one income is the best path in this world, and we can't ever depend on one job, because employment is always temporary. How will you make it and afford the life you desire for yourself?
How you decide to support yourself is up to you. How you decide to use your creative mind, talents, and enjoyment is also up to you. Where you find peace of mind in your hobbies or creations, is where someone else is making money from the same thing, and you can have both. Because why have 1 income when you could have more?
