Put up ten fingers and put each finger down if the following fits your description:
You bump curves frequently when driving.
Transfer money from your savings to your checking account to buy food.
Wash big loads of clothes without separating the colors.
Cook chicken alfredo.
Use Apple Pay as a replacement for your actual wallet.
Close TikTok or any other social media app just to click back on it.
Don’t wait for the car to warm up before driving off.
Take a trip, no matter if you have $40 in your account.
Do chores with phone in hand.
Cook on high.
If you have six or more fingers down, congratulations, you’re a young hoe.
On November 11, 2025, user @Bean_____1 on X (formally known as Twitter) tweeted, “Young hoes cook everything on high’’ alluding to the lifestyle of black Gen Z girls. This tweet took the media by storm with 17.4 million views on X and infamously started the #youngho trend on TikTok.
Creatives wasted no time with the jokes about being a #youngho. I’ve yet to beat the allegations, with some being: young hoes go home without attending class after not finding parking, young hoes eat snacks off of paper towels, and young hoes sleep with laundry on the bed. Yes, yes, and yes. I’m not trying to wash dishes, nor do I have the time to fold all that laundry.
With how funny this trend is, we can’t deny the various truths it holds about the Gen Z girlies. The reason why we can cook eggs in twenty seconds is that we understand life quite differently from previous generations. When the old hoes were young hoes, they were already married and having kids by 22.
Young hoes don’t have time for all that.
We young hoes are faced with a treacherous economy and job market that leaves us no choice but to chase that bag. Applying to jobs feels like a lottery game, and who knows when the economy will pick up? But young hoes are innovative and will bounce from job to job, whether that's through accruing degrees, social media, Depop selling, trading stocks, or traditional jobs. Getting to the bag isn’t optional; it's mandatory.
Back when young hoes were kids, our parents would get home all burnt out and go through the motions, but had a hard time expressing it. Their experience taught us the importance of taking care of our mental well-being by setting boundaries and cutting things that no longer serve us. The block button comes in handy with that cause we have no time for games!
Young hoes are not trying to conform to a life shaped by others. What’s the point in doing that when the world seems like it’s collapsing? Instead, young hoes are in the process of designing a life that fits them.
