Meet Maxi Monclerr: Jacksonville’s Hottest Sex Symbol

“First we make decisions, then those decisions make us.” – Maxi Monclerr

Jacksonville is swarming with talent, and Maxi Monclerr is climbing his way up the ladder. Maxi is an experimental, charming artist who is bringing his skill to the table for the greater good of the music scene. In this exclusive interview with Jacksonville’s hottest up and coming artist, I dive deep into his life and get to know the origin of him as an artist and the inspiration behind his music.

Maxi first got into music after returning home from college. He was unsure of his next move and debated whether he wanted to pursue football. After one of his friends commented on his elite music taste, he suggested Maxi start his own music career.

Maxi praises his “My big brother is the brother as one of his main influences; reason why I love music so much.” Growing up, his brother shared music with him and rapped alongside Maxi. While he liked to think he was forced to listen to his brother's suggestions, he admits he was his number one fan.

Maxi shares, “My inspiration comes most from the people who approach me and tell me they actually mess with my music.” I then asked Maxi what are other inspirations that influence his music and in his own words he stated, "Women inspire me a lot!”

Jacksonville is exploding with talent not only through music, but through other outlets of expression such as fashion! Maxi is someone who is all over fashion and individuality. He is unapologetically himself and ensures he shares that message with his audience. Maxi is shaping the music scene by breaking conventional music in Jacksonville to be subject to him–rather than matching the sound of other artists. I asked Maxi, “how do you feel about the music/art scene in Jacksonville right now?” He responded with, “Jacksonville’s music scene is definitely growing despite the city being in the spotlight for both positive and negative reasons. There is so much versatility and promise within the city that it makes it possible for anyone to express their creative talents. “We need one person to lead the way and make their mark, and we already know that I am praying it is me.”

I enjoyed this interview with Maxi and got to listen and decide for myself which song I like the most. I would have to say go listen to Hardcore from his Jerkmates album–on all platforms right now!

Be sure to follow his Instagram @maximonclerr and keep up with his drops!

Strike Out,
